Eddie Martin
Multi-instrumentalist Eddie Martin was weened on a mix of folk, electric blues and classic rock that has left him equally at home with acoustic as with electric instruments and imbued in him a deep respect for the music’s Afro-American roots. A powerful and convincing vocalist, he is both a highly acclaimed guitarist and an excellent harmonica player, one of the true masters of the rack harmonica style. A prolific songwriter since the age of 16, his albums have ranged from One-Man-Band to Big Band to Power-Rock trio as he has wrung every drop of inspiration and instrumental technique out of the blues tradition and pushed it ever outwards with his own writing. Touring 35 countries with 17 acclaimed original albums and a string of National and International Awards and Nominations (including Best European Blues Album 2021 in Mojo Magazine and Winner, Best Solo Artist European Blues Awards) he has become known as “The Ambassador of British Blues". Eddie Martin’s electric, acoustic and slide guitar-playing has seen his recordings highly commended by the specialist music press, but he is also widely recognized as a top harmonica player. Listed as one of the world’s finest contemporary players on the Modern Blues Harmonica website, he was lauded for his rack-harmonica skills at the World Harmonica Festival in Trossingen in 2006, where he performed solo, held a Masterclass and co-judged the World Blues Harmonica Competition. We are very happy to welcome him back to teach a class on rack harmonica and guitar at the Harmonica Masters Workshops 2024. |
